A Delayed Happy 2009!

Baseball: Mark DeRosa was traded to the Indians for three minor leaguers...The Dodgers are either going to trade or cut Andruw Jones...Scott Proctor is a Marlin (provided he passes his physical)...The Angels signed Brian Fuentes to a two year deal...The Diamondbacks CEO Jeff Moorad has resigned and could become the new owner of the Padres...New York lawmakers has decided to postpone a bond hearing for the Yankees and Mets. If you had $413 million to spend on three players then why do you need $450 million from the taxpayers, NY Yankees? At least the Mets have an excuse, they were involved in that Madoff fiasco..Meanwhile the Rays new home could be a dump or a dog track...Finally, get well wishes go out to a construction worker who fell off a mobile scaffold at the new Yankee Stadium.

Basketball: Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The Knicks knocked off the Celtics, 100-88...Oh and KG is ok with a Stephon Marbury reunion...A traveling call on LeBron James sunk the Cavs as they fell to the Wizards, 80-77. Was Sunday backwards day and nobody told me?

College Basketball: Boston College upset #1 North Carolina, 85-78...Meanwhile Duke charged past Virginia Tech, 69-44...And Louisville won the battle of Kentucky, 74-71.

College Football: Fiesta Bowl is tonight, but who could forget the incredible International Bowl on Saturday, where the Huskies downed Buffalo, 38-20.

Football: The Eagles outran the Vikings, 26-14...While the Ravens ended comeback player of the year Chad Pennington's season with a 27-9 victory...The veteran Kurt Warner outlasted the rookie Matt Ryan in the Cardinals 30-24 win...The Chargers edged the Colts, 23-17 in OT...Peyton Manning was named MVP for the third time in his career....BC head coach Jeff Jagodzinski could lose his job if he interviews with the Jets. There is nothing associated with the Jets that is worth losing your job over...Bill Parcells is not going anywhere...And apparently the same can be said about Matt Cassell...Congrats to Mike Smith on being named AP Coach of the Year.

Hockey: The All-Star votes have been counted and Alexander Ovechkin will not be starting. But almost the entire Candiens team will. So you know, take that as you will..The Hawks finally got play someone other than the Red Wings and by goodness the results ended in their favor, 5-2...Shootouts were the name of the game as James Neal lifted the Stars passed the Canucks, 3-2...And Andrei Markov's goal handed the Habs a 6-5 win...Brian Rolston played hero for the Devils in their 4-3 OT victory...And for a recap of this weekend's fights, here's a you decide, which was more JV, Alexander Semin's slap and tickle of Mark Staal or Sidney Crosby's fight?

Best of the Rest: Carlos Sainz has won the second stage of the Dakar Rally...Jeff Gordon believes in Nascar's future.
