Your Majesty



Baseball: Congratulations to Prince Fielder on winning the 2009 homerun derby. Fielder beat Rangers slugger Nelson Cruz in the final round to take the crown. And poor Brandon Inge went hitless in the first round...In other all-star news, Tim Lincecum and Roy Halladay have been named starters for Tuesday...The World defeated the United States, 7-5 in the Futures Game...If you're looking for Dustin Pedroia at this year's All-Star game, you're out of luck. He has decided to stay with his pregnant wife Kelli who is in the hospital with complications. I'd say that was a smart move...Jay Bruce will miss 6 to 8 weeks with a broken wrist...Pedro Martinez's move to Philadelphia looks imminent...Manny Acta has been fired as manager of the Washington Nationals. Jim Riggleman will replace him. Good luck Jimmy, you're going to need it...The Cubs may file for bankruptcy in hopes of speeding up their sale.

Basketball: The Clippers are close to signing Allen Iverson...Blake Griffin shined in his summer league debut...Tracy McGrady is switching his number from 1 to 3 to help promote his humanitarian efforts in the Darfur region on Sudan. Football: Baltimore Raven Derrick Mason has announced his retirement after 12 seasons in the NFL...The Jets have released Bubba Franks...And the Bucs have let Brian Griese go.

Hockey: The Rangers have locked up Ryan Callahan to a multiyear deal. YEAH!!!!...New York also traded winger Lauri Korpikoski to the Coyotes for Enver Lisin. Sending someone to Phoenix is just wrong and someone like Lauri, well it's down right cruel...Former Blueshirts defenseman Paul Mara has signed with the Canadiens where he can reunite with Scott Gomez...The Ducks signed James Wisniewski to a one year deal...A trip to the conference finals was not enough to keep GM Dale Tallon with the Blackhawks. Must have had something to do with that clerical error...The Devils have hired Jaques Lemaire as their head coach again.
