Back in Black

So yesterday, I somehow managed to delete the entire daily crawl making today's a mixture of news from the past two days.

Baseball: Once again the NL has let me down after falling to the AL, 4-3. Whatever, it didn't effect the Phillies last year, or the Cardinals in 2006 or the Braves in 2009, because they probably won't make the playoffs this year, but watch out for 2010!...Carl Crawford earned MVP honors thanks to a crazy catch that robbed Brad Hawpe of a homerun...Ratings were down for the All-Star game. It is hard to top the never ending game in 2008, especially since I was featured in a camera pan of the crowd, if you look closely enough in HD of course...The Phillies signed Pedro Martinez...And then put him on the DL...Dodgers starter Eric Milton underwent back surgery and is likely done for the season...Also out for the season is Pirates reliever Tyler Yates...Tim Riggleman ran his first practice as Nats manager. Even after two days, there really isn't that much baseball news. Thank goodness the break is over tonight!

Basketball: The Lakers have taken a three year deal off the table. Sorry Lamar Odom...Antoine Walker is in some deep trouble. He's facing criminal charges over $822,500 in gamblind debt. Watch out Antoine, because the popo are on your tail!...In other legal news, Diana Taurasi was extremely drunk when she was pulled over driving her car. Watch out Diana, because the popo are on your tail!

Football: The Ravens have signed Terrell Suggs to a six year deal worth $63 million with $38 million guaranteed...Steve McNair reportedly died without a will. Let this be a lesson to everyone, you should always have a will.

Hockey: The NHL released their schedule. The season opens with the Pens hosting the Rangers...As expected, the NHL also announced the Bruins will host the Flyers in this year's Winter Classic. The game will take place at Fenway. Hopefully in 2011 it will be the Rangers hosting the Winter Classic at Yankee Stadium!...The Islanders signed #1 draft pick John Tavares to a three year entry deal...The NHL extended their contract with NBC because they enjoy mediocre coverage more than the average fan.

Nascar: Jeremy Mayfield has reportedly tested positive for Meth again. Congrats on being a royal idiot...In court papers which revealed the positive test, Mayfield's stepmother also claims that she watched Jeremy take meth at least 30 times from 1998 to 2005. That I am no really believing. If he used meth on a regular basis for seven years, he would weigh 10 pounds and probably be missing a few teeth...Even if Mayfield returns to Nascar, he'll need a few employees at Jeremy Mayfield Motorsports...Martin Truex, Jr. was docked 25 points for a rules infraction that took place at Chicagoland. In addtion to Truex, Teresa Earnhardt was docked 25 owner points and Kevin "Bono" Manion was fined $25,000...As of now, Kevin Harvick is staying at RCR for 2010.

Best of the Rest: Arturo Gatti's wife is claiming her innocence from a Brazilian jail. I think Brazilian jail says a lot in that sentence...Lance Armstrong is still not leading the Tour de France. I am sensing a pattern...Rafael Nadal is returning to the tour next month in Montreal...The US was knocked out of the Davis Cup after falling to Croatia and their terrible red checkered shirts.
