Free and Easy down the road I go

Baseball: It was a night of tough losses for the Brewers and Rockies who both were defeated 1-0. Yovani Gallardo lost his second 1-0 game to the Mets this season while the Dodgers were lifted by Rafael Furcal's lone RBI...Jair Jurrjens may have lost his bid for a no-hitter in the seventh, but the Braves for once offered up enough offense for Jurrjens to pick up an 11-1 victory over the Phillies. I think the Braves should play all of their games agains the Phils at Citizens Bank Park...Colby Rasmus picked up his first career walk-off homerun as the Cards edged the Giants, 2-1 in 10...Mark DeRosa will miss 3-to-4 games with a wrist injury...In other walk-off news, Hank Blalock played hero in the Rangers, 9-7 win over the Angels. The Rangers are now just a half game behind the Halos in the AL West...Former teammates Alex Rodriguez and Ken Griffey, Jr. belted homeruns, but it was the Yankees who prevailed over the Mariners, 4-2. Melky Cabrera's solo homer was upheld after review...Yanks outfielder Xavier Nady will undergo Tommy John Surgery...Brandon Webb is not getting surgery, instead he'll try to rehab his ailing shoulder. Oh because this idea worked super well for Xavier Nady...One day after giving up a big lead, the Red Sox scored five runs in the ninth inning to beat the Orioles, 6-5. Jonathan Papelbon became the Red Sox all time saves leader...At this rate, the Pirates will be trading their entire team for the Rangers AAA squad after sending Eric Hinske to the Yankees and Nyjer Morgan and Sean Burnett to the Nationals. So what did all that trading do? Not much as they fell to the Cubs, 4-1...The AL and NL All-Star teams will have an extra pitcher this year.

Basketball: Wednesday marked the first day of free agent signings with the Pistons racking up Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva...Kobe Bryant is staying in LA...It could be a battle between the Mavs and Knicks to get Jason Kidd's services...Is Hedo Turkoglu going to Portland?...Are the Clippers shipping Zach Randolph to the Grizzles. Why anyone would want Randolph is beyond me.

Football: A Florida judge has asked to release the video tape of Donte Stallworth's car accident.
Hockey: Also starting free agent signing on Wednesday was the NHL. The biggest deal of the day probably goes to Marion Hossa who got a 12 year, $62.8 million contract from the Blackhawks. Twelve years?!??!! He'll be 42 when his contract expires. Excessive doesn't even begin to describe this deal...So the Rangers shipped Scott Gomez and his huge contract to the Canadiens only to sign Marion Gaborik to a five year, $37.5 million deal. At least Gomer isn't made of glass...New York also signed Donald Brashear to a three year deal, leaving Colton Orr to sign a four year contract with the Maple Leafs...With Gaborik gone in Minnesota, the Wild signed Martin Havlat to a six year, $30 million deal...Twins Daniel and Henrik Sedin got identical $30.5 million deals from the Canucks...Other big free agent signings included the Oilers picking up Nikolai Khabibulin and the Capitals getting Mike Knuble.

Nascar: Yes, Jeremy Mayfield was taking Meth, but according to a court ruling, it really doesn't matter because he's been cleared to race...However he'll have to try to make Saturday's race at Daytona in someone else's car...Glen Wood and Richard Childress are among the 25 nominees to enter in the first calss of the Nascar Hall of Fame...There is a God, Bill Weber will not call the last two races on TNT. Hopefully this idea goes beyond just those races...If you are looking for a loan, you may want to hit up Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Check this Out: Greatest TV news to come out in a while (and no this has nothing to do with Hillary Duff going on Gossip Girl, I was way more excited to hear about Joanna Garcia's arc on the CW hit) Liza Minelli and Delta Burke will star on a new lifetime series called Drop Dead Diva.
