Baseball: Edgar Renteria is heading back to the NL after signing a two year, $18.5 million contract with the San Francisco Giants...The Yankees and CC Sabathia's agent Scott Boras are scheduled to meet. Please don't sign with New York CC!...Speaking of evil, Alex Rodriguez may play for the Dominican in the World Baseball Classic. Goodness, did we go through this last time they had the WBC. Will he play for the Dominican or the USA?...The Dodgers and Pirates are in discussions about shortstop Jack Wilson...The Reds signed Mike Lincoln to a two year, $4 million contract...Meanwhile the Brewers bolstered their pen by signing Jorge Julio...In what has become a trend this off season, the Reds have announced they will not raise ticket prices.

Basketball: The Mavs rode past the Suns, 112-97...Tony Parker had 22 as the Spurs beat the Nuggets, 108-91.

College Basketball: #2 UCONN survived a tough fight with Buffalo, 68-64...A.J. Abrams matched a career high 31 point outburst as Texas edged UCLA, 68-64...Oklahoma skimmed past USC, 73-72.

College Football: Mike Teel threw seven touchdowns as Rutgers bashed Louisville, 63-14...USC defensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is expected to be announced as the new head coach at Washington...Or maybe not.

Football: The Chargers demolished the Raiders, 34-7...The Patriots are reportedly close to re-signing Junior Seau...Anyone interested in an old football stadium? Because the city of Pontiac has one available...A programming note, I'll be attending the Giants-Eagles game on Sunday and will be back on Monday with my latest things I learned post. As an added bonus, I'm giving you a head start, the first thing I learned, that this may not have been the right week to have Plaxico Burress likeness prominently placed on the ticket!
