There has been a lot of question as to why Brett Myers was unable to pitch in a rehab start on Saturday. Originally he had claimed he injured his eye playing with his 4-year-old son. Then he blamed the injury on his wife’s truck. But Phillies manager Charlie Manuel is not to sure about either excuse. “I don’t believe any of it.”
That might be a good call, considering reports actually claim Myers suffered his injury as a result of being punched in the face during an altercation outside of a bar near his home in Jacksonville, FL.
I guess it’s not as easy to beat someone else up when they’re not your wife.
Myers has denied the allegation but did admit that a buddy of his was involved in a fracas at the bar. Popo reports confirm Myers claim, but I still think something funny is going on here.
