taking it to the judge

It was not a good day to be involved in a New York sports team as three people found themselves in legal hot water on Tuesday. Knicks center Eddie Curry was hit with a lawsuit that alleges Curry sexually harassed and berated former driver Dave Kuchinsky. In the suit Kuchinsky claims that Curry exposed himself and also yelled racial and religious slurs at him, which included calling him a “cracker,” “white slave”, “white devil” and “grandmaster of the KKK.” He also claims that Curry owes him $98,000 in back pay. This suit seems like a punctuation mark on an already frustrating season for Eddie, who has only played in one game due to a knee injury.

Also heading to court is Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress although at least this time it doesn’t involve any weapons incidences. A Pennsylvania car dealership wants its money back after allowing the troubled player to lease a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche in exchange for “promises to appear at public events.” The suit alleges that Burress failed to make any autograph appearances and never returned the car. Although the fact that it was impounded may have made that difficult. The dealership is also looking for restitution of damages inflicted in the car. Now I am beginning to understand why Plax keeps suitcases filled with cash in his house. Although a Swiss bank account can do the same thing.

And finally, after much speculation, Yankee President Randy Levine received a subpoena in connection with an investigation of public funding for Yankee Stadium. There have been many articles written about some sketchy bookwork between the baseball giant and New York City officials and it seems about time someone got a subpoena.

Watch out Eddie, Plaxico and Randy, because the popo are on your tail!
