Quack! Quack! Quack!



Baseball: Tim Lincecum struck out 11, but it was Pedro Martinez and his nine strikes outs that were able to prevail in the Phillies 2-1 win over the Giants...Jon Garland - facing his former team - retired the final 14 batters he faced as LA doubled up the D'backs, 4-2...Speaking of doubling up, Jorge Posada homered and drove in four as the Yankees downed the Blue Jays, 10-5...And the Red Sox topped the Rays, 6-3 to get their first series win at Tropicana Field since 2007...Tim Wakefield may start on Saturday. I wrote may not will definitely, so don't get too excited...Placido Polanco drove in the game winner with a sac fly in the 10th as the Tigers completed a sweep of the Indians, 4-3...Jarrod Washburn will miss his next scheduled start with a sore left knee...Well interleague is finally over after the White Sox shut out the Cubs, 5-0. The game was a make up of their scheduled June 16th match-up...Ian Snell is really thriving in Seattle, picking up his fourth victory as the Mariners downed the A's, 7-4...Congrats to Pat Misch on earning his first career victory as the Mets hammered the Rockies, 8-3...David Wright has ditched his supersized batting helmet and it wasn't because it looked funny. "It's just not comfortbale," Wright said. Sure we'll go with that...Former Met Jerry Koosman was sentenced to six months in jail for tax evasion. Luckily he was able to get in the 1969 celebration at Citi Field before having to go jail. Too bad Dwight Gooden couldn't say the same thing about the 1986 celebration at Shea a few years back. Watch out Jerry and Dwight, because the popo are on your tail!...Sad news, Hall of Famer Ernie Harwell has been diagnosised with incurable cancer. He is 91 years old.
