Hey Foxy Lady

Baseball: Despite the continued absence of Troy Tulowitzki, the Rockies collected their seventh straight win, 5-1 over the Reds. They are now just 2 games behind the Dodgers in the NL West...The Braves' offense finally broke out in their 9-7 win over the Astros...The Marlins completed their sweep of the Mets, 13-4...Craig Coakley of Queens aka the Mets streaker pleaded guilty to interfering with a sporting event and has received a year ban from Citi Field. With the way the Mets have been playing I don't know if that's really punishment. Watch out Craig, because the popo are on your tail!...The Nationals edged the Phillies, 8-7 ending their nine game losing streak...Charlie Manuel and Brad Lidge had a heart to heart. I only wish I could have been a fly on the wall during that conversation...The Twins were unable to capitalize on the Tiger's loss, falling to the Blue Jays, 3-2. Minnesota remains 5 1/2 games behind Detroit...The Royals will likely shut down Gil Meche for the rest of the season...John Lackey threw a five pitch shut out in the Angles 3-0 win over the Mariners...Congrats to Torii Hunter on receiving the Branch Rickey Award...Rays slugger Carlos Pena underwent surgery to repair his two broken fingers. Basketball: NBA refs expect to be locked out come October 1st...Dwyane Wade will not talk extension until next summer...Don't forget to catch the Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony Friday at 6:30 PM.

College Football: After storming out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, Georgia Tech barely hung onto their 30-27 win over Clemson.

Football: Jeff Reed kicked a 33 yard field goal in OT as the Steelers held off the Titans, 13-10...Troy Polamalu suffered a strained MCL and will likely miss 3-to-6 weeks...The Saints could be without their best offensive lineman Jammal Brown for longer than expected after he underwent hip surgery...The Vikings have cut WR Bobby Wade...The clock is ticking for Richard Seymour. He's got five days to show up in Oakland or he's going to be suspended without pay for the entire season...The NFL will allow delayed airings of blacked out games including the Bengals and Cardinals to be seen on NFL.com for 72 hours.

Hockey: The Penguins stopped by the White House on Thursday to celebrate their 2009 Stanley Cup victory...Speaking of Pittsburgh. They're hoping to lock up defenseman Sergei Gonchar and Kris Letang before both players become free agents next summer...Has the Dany Heatley saga finally ended? Heatley will reportedly head to the Sharks in a three team deal that will send the Sharks' Patrick Marleau to the Kings and the Kings' Alexander Frolov and Jarret Stoll to the Senators. The Sharks', Kings' and Senators' GMs have, however, denied this report...Mike Comrie has agreed to a deal with the Edmonton Oilers...Theo Fleury has been cleared by the NHL to return to on-ice competition...Alex Ovechkin wants a meeting of NHL players to talk about participating in the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Nascar: Richard Petty Motorsports and Yates Racing plan to merge in 2010. Paul Menard will join RPM stablemates Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler and A.J. Allmendinger in Fords next season...This weekend marks the last race before the Chase. Matt Kenseth is sitting in the final Chase spot with Brian Vickers and Kyle Busch hot on his heels, but just who will make it depends on which driver can fair better at Richmond. Anything can happen on this tiny track so don't forget to tune to ABC at 7 PM on Saturday.
