Lightning halts race in Norway

This is a bit old, but it was so crazy, I had to post it:

91 spectators were injured when a bolt of lightning struck fans on a hill during a rallycross race in Norway on Sunday. Of the 91 injured 45 were taken to four local hospitals with minor burns. The injured were transported by either one of the 16 ambulances or three medical helicopters dispatched to the scene.

"I've never seen anything like it; spectators fell off their seats," a witness, Roar Bringaker, was quoted as saying on the Web site of Norwegian paper Verdens Gang. "People got scared and ran. It was chaotic."

The race was called off due to the incident.

Holy crap, I’ve been and have participated in baseball games when there’s been lightning but it’s never like it’s raining and boom there’s lightning. Usually, it’s more like it’s pouring, I hear some thunder, maybe the kids using the aluminum bats should get off the field, and here comes the lightning. I can only imagine how scary that was.

It’s been fun blogging with you,
