And the Oscar goes to...

As I was coming back from lunch and I was almost attacked by a bird. It was a very Tippi Hedren moment. I was thinking, if you get hit by bird droppings, it’s supposed to be good luck, but if you get hit by a bird, is it even better luck?

NASCAR Update:
Auto Club 500 Recap
Blown engines and early accidents marred the Auto Club 500 at Fontana on Sunday. Both Dale Earnhardt, Inc. teammates, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Martin Truex, Jr. blew engines early. While Kasey Kahne, a pre-race favorite, Dave Blaney and Ken Schrader all had engine troubles before the day was over. But a late race accident involving David Reutimann that put the field under a 15 minute red flag could not stop Matt Kenseth. He cruised to an easy victory, capping off the weekend sweep.

Shout outs to Brian Vickers, who missed the Daytona 500 but was able to bring home Red Bull Racing’s first top ten.

Olympics
Olympic wrestling champ, Rulon Gardner survived a plane crash this weekend on the Utah-Arizona border. He and the two other passengers were rescued by a fisherman after swimming for one hour in 44 degree water. This isn’t the first time he has escaped death. Gardner lost a toe to frostbite and survived a serious motorcycle accident. I’m thinking he should stay home, because just like in “Final Destination,” Death always finds you! Just kidding. (AP)
