Almost Turkey Day

Baseball: Citi Taxpayer Field?...Hot Japanese pitcher Junichi Tazawa has reportedly chosen the Red Sox. The rich just get richer...Jason Varitek's agent says the Red Sox are interested in his client's services but have yet to make an offer...Could Rafael Furcal be headed to Oakland? According to sources he was looking at homes...And could Andy Pettitte being following his old manager Joe Torre to the left coast?...Ticket prices maybe going up at the new Yankee Stadium, but they'll stay the same at Steinbrenner Field...Apparently Roger Clemens is someone you don't want to be your charity event to be associated with.

Basketball: The trade between the Knicks and the Clippers was finalized on Tuesday, even though Cuttino Mobley will be out for at least a week...Ironically, the reasoning behind the trade, LeBron James, paid a little visit to the Knicks on Tuesday, along with his Cavs teammates. And even with King James on the bench for the fourth quarter, Cleveland was still able to beat the Knicks, 119-101...Nate Robinson had to leave the game early with a groin injury...The Lakers advanced to 12-1 after destroying the Nets, 120-93...Ed Tapscott got a 124-100 win in his coach debut with the Wizards.

College Basketball: In the first battle of top 10 teams this season, the Irish edged the Longhorns, 81-80...Stephen Curry may not have scored a point, but Davidson was able to roll past Loyola (MD), 78-48. Maybe you should try to spread the D next time...Former Indiana head coach Kevlin Sampson has been given a five year show-cause penalty by the NCAA for his actions while in Bloomington. The school, however, escaped a postseason ban...



College Football: After their 45-22 defeat of Western Michigan, Ball State has finished its season undefeated. I'm sure Letterman will be all over this...West Virginia freshman running back Mark Robert Sampson, Jr. has been dismissed after he was charged with sexual assualt. Watch out Mark, because the popo are on your tail!

Football: The experiment is over in Cleveland for now. Brady Quinn is expected to miss the remainder of the season with that broken finger. I still give him snaps for trying to grit it out...The Redskins have cut 2005 NFL MVP Shaun Alexander.

Hockey: Former Ducks GM Brian Burke is getting closer to becoming the GM of the Maple Leafs...Rene Bourque scored twice as the Flames crushed the Kings, 6-2...The Trashers scored three goals in the second in their 6-3 beating of the Maple Leafs...Chris Mason stoped 47 shots while Dave Perron and Brad Boyes scored in the shoot-out giving the Blues a 1-0 win over the Predators...and Giving Thanks for Hockey.

Best of the Rest: Stuart Appleby called fellow golfer John Daly a train wreck. And while that maybe true, Daly is just concentrating on his first tournament in Australia in six years...AT&T is leaving Nascar and its sponsorship with the #31 Chevy driven by Jeff Burton...Ryan Newman, Richard Childress and Artie Kempner are the three finalists in the Nascar Home Depot Humanitarian Award.

Quite a nice surprise as I was headed to work yesterday morning, unfortunately, I was half asleep when I walked by and forgot to take a picture.
