September 7, 2006

Sorry, I have been super busy today so I'm going to have to keep it short!

Braves Update:
Brian McCann's homerun in the first game of a doubleheader, was the only offense the Braves could muster as they lost the first game 4-1 and the second game 8-0 to the Mets. Good thing I didn't schelp out to Shea yesterday! The Braves have the day off, which, after playing three doubleheaders in five days, is well deserved! The Braves head home to play a series against the Cubs.

Games to .500: 7
Games behind San Diego Padres: 7
Games behind New York Mets: 20.5

Around Sports:
Marlins Rookie, Anibal Sanchez, threw a no-hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks, as the Marlins won 2-0. The last rookie to throw a no-hitter was Bud Smith for the Cardinals on September 3, 2001.

Rafael Nadal, the number 2 seeded player at the U.S. Open was upset by 54th ranked Mikhail youzhiny of Russia. Nadal lost in four sets, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, 6-1.

Popo in my crib news:
The Lions defensive line assistant coach, Joe Cullen was pulled over twice in two weeks by police. The first time was for driving nude, (how Matthew McConaughey of you) and the second time for suspicion of drunken driving. Watch out Joe, because the popo are on your tail!

Celebrity Tid Bits:
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul II Soul 2 is the top grossing country tour of the year. It has even surpassed Madonna for the top grossing tour in all genres, but might end up second behind the Rolling Stones, depending on how their tour goes this fall.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Devon Sawa, pronounced like the milk is Sawa. He turns 28 today.

Random Quote: “Sara Evans will be the first country star to appear on the ABC series Dancing With the Stars, where she will hoof it up against such glittering luminaries as Shanna Moakler, Willa Ford and Monique Coleman.” Huh? (From a gactv.com article)

It's been fun blogging with you,

Kate
