Terry Francona also notched his 500th career win as a manager...Ichiro extended his hitting streak to 26 games as the Mariners topped the Orioles, 8-2...Joe Mauer stayed red hot and Kevin Slowey picked up his eighth win of the season as the Twins edged the Indians, 4-3...In his major league debut, New Jersey's own Vin Mazzaro and the Oakland A's shut down the White Sox, 5-0...The Braves rallied to stun the Cubs in the 12th, 6-5...Atlanta sent down Jordan Schafer to the minors and called up Gregor Blanco...Raul Ibanez knocked two out of the yard as the Phillies doubled up the Padres, 10-5...Not only did the Mets lose to the Pirates with Johan Santana on the mound, but they may have to worry about the swine flu. Well they play in Queens after all. Epicenter of the New York City swine flu outbreak...Reds pitcher Edison Volquez is heading back to the DL.

Basketball: Jameer Nelson will play in the NBA Finals for the Magic...President Obama has picked the Lakers. Judging from his NCAA bracket, LA may have a shot.
