Former Mountain biking world champion Melissa “Missy” Giove was arrested and placed in custody after the popo seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana from a truck she was driving in upstate New York.
Missy, it appears, was a part of an elaborate set-up. It began when a woman was pulled over by the Illinois popo who seized her truck and trailer that was carrying 220 pounds of pot. The popo then got all sneaky and drove the truck to outside of Albany, NY where Missy picked it up. She then drove north and followed Eric Canori to his home where they unloaded some of the contents from the trailer.

When the popo busted up the party, they discovered more than 150 pounds of pot and more than $1 million in cash hidden in a closet and in the basement. Did Plaxico Burress stop by to drop off his suitcases of cash before the raid? Between Giove’s vehicle and the home, the popo seized close to 400 pounds of pot. That’s like getting all 7s on a slot machine for the DEA.
Both Missy and her companion in crime Canori were charged with conspiring to possess and distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana. If convicted they face a maximum of 40 years and a fine of up to $2 million. Watch out Missy and Eric, because the popo are on your tail!
