How did I miss this one? After lobbying to take then Manager Willie Randolph’s job with the Mets earlier this year, Gary Carter has gotten himself a New York managing gig…with the Long Island Ducks. Carter had been criticized by former teammates and Mets broadcasters Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling for his open courting of his former squad, but now gets his chance to show Long Island what he’s made of. I wonder if John Rocker is still on the squad?
