I spent last night watching the “America’s Next Top Model” finale and then catching up on the “Friday Night Lights” and “My Boys” episodes I has taped Tuesday night.

BREAKING NEWS: Grammy nominations were just released. Congratulations to Mary J. Blige who picked up 8 nominations! Carrie Underwood was nominated for Best New Artist and “Jesus, Take the Wheel” was nominated for Song of the Year. The Dixie Chicks were nominated for Record of the Year for “Not Ready to Make Nice” and for Album of the Year for Taking the Long Way. Miranda Lambert was nominated for Best Female Country Performance for “Kerosene.” She’ll go up against Martina McBride for “I Still Miss Someone,” LeAnn Rimes for “Something’s Gotta Give,” Carrie Underwood for “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and Gretchen Wilson for “I Don’t Feel Like Loving You Today.” Congratulations also go out to Little Big Town who picked up Country Album of the Year nomination for The Road to Here, one of my favorite records of the year. But some of my favorite nominations go to the Pussycat Dolls who received a nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group for “Stickwitu” and the fact that the John Mayer Trio are up for Best Rock Album. Once again Grammy voters, you’re use of recreational drugs have hindered your thinking! You can find out who wins on February 7, 2007!

Around the World:
65 years ago today, Pearl Harbor was attacked. It was on this night that my grandmother, who was attending her senior prom, learned about this attack on America. And you thought you had a crappy prom!

Marcelle Shriver of Stratford, NJ has been organizing a Silly String drive to send to Iraq. Shriver’s son, who’s currently in Iraq, told his mother that the use the Silly String to detect trip wires. They shoot the Silly String across the room and if it falls to the ground they know it’s safe to walk through, if it lingers in the air they know there are trip wires present. The trip wires are invisible to the naked eye. Currently, Ms. Shriver has 1000 cans packaged in her garage. She even received a call from the makers of Silly String, Just For Kicks, Inc, asking how they could help. Ms. Shriver also received help from a pilot who volunteered to fly the Silly String to Kuwait since the aerosol cans cannot be sent through the U.S. Post Office.

A tornado roared down the streets of London on Thursday injuring six. The twister touched down around 11 AM local time in a mostly residential area of northwest London.

Celebrity Tid Bits:
Congratulations to CariDee English on winning the seventh season of “America’s Next Top Model” edging out my favorite Melrose. So funny, because I never love the bitchy ones, but I thought overall, Melrose performed more consistently over the course of the competition and wasn’t such a loose cannon like CariDee. And Melrose’s runway walk was fierce!

TV ALERT: “The O.C.” @ 9 PM/est on Fox

TV ALERT: “Ugly Betty” and “Grey’s Anatomy” maybe repeats tonight, but “Men in Trees” is all new @ 10 PM/est on ABC!

Due to a scheduling conflict, Tim Gunn may not be able to shoot “Project Runway” season 4. He’s the only reason why I watch the first half of the episodes!

Eonline.com is reporting that Rebecca Romijn will be joining the cast of “Ugly Betty” as the woman wrapped in bandages who is scheming to take over Mode.

Rascal Flatts will be ringing in the New Year on “Dick Clarke’s Rockin’ Eve 2007.”
